The Baltic Manure Handling Award 2012
Once again we will launch the symbolic Baltic Manure Handling Award and this will be done in August. The purpose with the Award is to identify and promote the companies and technology developers, which put an effort in increasing the utilization of manure and manure nutrients and, thereby, creating business opportunities and reducing eutrophication to the Baltic Sea. The technology has to be market ready or already on the market and the main criteria for the incoming technologies are that they:
- Reduce pollution from manure handling
- Increase plant availability or other sustainable uses/commercialization of manure nutrients
- Increase the energy output of manure
The criteria will be described in more detail, when the call for the Award is launched in August. The winner will be announced at Agromek in Denmark, which is Northern Europe’s largest agricultural fair. The fair takes place in the end of November and there will also be a B2B event for stakeholders within the manure management area.
